Revolutionizing Road Construction with Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB)
Why Choose CRMB?
CRMB represents a significant leap forward in road technology as a Crumb Rubber Modified Asphalt
Superior Durability
CRMB offers enhanced resistance to wear and tear, making roads last longer even under heavy traffic conditions.
Environmentally Friendly
Utilizing recycled vehicle tires, CRMB significantly reduces rubber waste in landfills and promotes a greener environment.
Proven to be Cost Effective
Durable performance translates to reduced repair needs and minimized long-term maintenance expenses.
100% Made in Malaysia
Malaysian produced, CRMB bolsters local industries, increase employment opportunities & minimizes dependence on imported resources.
CRMB Technical Superiority
Produced using a blend of 60/70 bitumen and crumb rubber that meets PG 76 grading
This advanced modification significantly enhances the asphalt’s elasticity, durability & resistance to deformation.
As a result, CRMB delivers superior performance under a wide range of climatic and traffic conditions—offering stronger, more flexible, and longer-lasting road surfaces that reduce maintenance needs and improve driving comfort.
The standout attributes of CRMB:
Thermal Stability
Enhanced Adhesion
High Resistance to Rutting
Reduced Aging & Oxidation
Lower Moisture Susceptibility
Thermal Stability
CRMB exhibits lower thermal susceptibility compared to conventional bitumen, meaning its viscosity and consistency remain more stable across a wide temperature spectrum. The incorporation of crumb rubber modifies the rheological properties of the binder, enhancing its elasticity at high temperatures and flexibility at low temperatures. This minimizes thermal cracking in cold climates and softening or bleeding in hot conditions, ensuring the pavement maintains structural integrity and consistent performance year-round.
Enhanced Adhesion
The rubber modification improves the surface energy characteristics of the bitumen, resulting in superior binder–aggregate adhesion. This enhanced bonding reduces the likelihood of stripping and ravelling caused by traffic loading and environmental exposure. The improved adhesion also provides a stronger interfacial bond that resists dislodgment of aggregates, leading to a more durable surface layer and extended pavement lifespan under dynamic stress conditions.
High Resistance to Rutting
CRMB’s viscoelastic nature significantly improves its rutting resistance, especially under heavy traffic and elevated temperatures. The elastomeric properties imparted by the crumb rubber increase the binder’s ability to recover after deformation, preventing permanent displacement of the asphalt mix. This characteristic makes CRMB ideal for expressways, industrial routes, and other pavements subjected to continuous heavy loads, where conventional bitumen often exhibits rutting and surface depression.
Reduced Aging & Oxidation
Crumb rubber introduces a network of polymer chains within the bitumen matrix, which acts as a barrier to oxygen diffusion and slows down the oxidation process. This results in reduced hardening of the binder over time and preserves its flexibility and ductility. Consequently, CRMB pavements experience lower rates of fatigue cracking and maintain their elastic recovery properties for longer service periods, contributing to an extended lifecycle and reduced maintenance costs.
Lower Moisture Susceptibility
The modification enhances the binder’s hydrophobic characteristics, reducing moisture penetration into the aggregate-binder interface. This minimizes the potential for stripping and debonding caused by water infiltration, even under conditions of prolonged saturation or poor drainage. The improved moisture resistance ensures that the pavement retains its structural cohesion and load-bearing capacity, maintaining long-term performance in tropical and high-rainfall regions.
Certificate of Quality
Each batch of CRMB is supplied with a Certificate of Quality (COQ) to ensure full traceability and quality assurance.
The COQ provides a comprehensive summary of laboratory test results verifying that the product meets the required technical specifications and performance standards, including parameters such as penetration, softening point, viscosity, elastic recovery, and PG grading compliance.
This rigorous documentation process underscores the manufacturer’s commitment to quality consistency, accountability, and compliance with both local and international standards for modified bitumen production.
Continuous Rigorous Testing
We ensure full compliance with the JKR Standard Specification and the REAM-SP 7/2018 guidelines for rubberized bitumen
These standards specify stringent requirements for physical, rheological, and performance-based properties of the modified binder, including penetration value, softening point, viscosity, elastic recovery, storage stability, and aging resistance.
The testing process verifies that the CRMB consistently meets the defined performance grade and exhibits the mechanical and thermal properties necessary for durable pavement construction. By adhering to both JKR and REAM-SP specifications, the product guarantees compatibility with national road construction standards and ensures superior field performance under Malaysian climatic and traffic conditions.
