CRMB Production

Turning recycle tyres into high performance pavement solutions

It All Start with Recycled Used Tyres

Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB)

CRMB is produced by blending Performance Grade (PG) 60/70 base bitumen with crumb rubber, resulting in an upgraded PG 76-grade bitumen with enhanced rheological and performance properties.
The crumb rubber used in CRMB is derived from recycled large vehicle tires, which are mechanically processed into fine powder through ambient or cryogenic grinding methods
This rubber powder, when mixed with bitumen at controlled temperatures and shear conditions, undergoes a devulcanization and swelling reaction—allowing the rubber particles to absorb light oils from the bitumen and form a homogeneous elastomeric network.
This modification process significantly improves the binder’s elastic recovery, viscosity, and resistance to rutting, cracking, and aging, especially under heavy traffic and high-temperature conditions.
Importantly, CRMB is 100% produced in Malaysia, utilizing locally available base bitumen and recycled rubber materials, making it an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective solution for high-performance road pavement applications.

Laboratory Testing & Verification

Prior to delivery to the premix plant, every batch of Crumb Rubber Modified Bitumen (CRMB) undergoes a comprehensive suite of laboratory tests. These include viscosity, dynamic shear rheometer (DSR), penetration, softening point, flash point, and elastic recovery evaluations.
Each parameter is measured in accordance with relevant ASTM and MS standards to ensure that the CRMB consistently achieves the target Performance Grade (PG 76) specifications and meets the required rheological and durability performance criteria.

Post-Application Monitoring

Following the laying of CRMB on-site, continuous performance monitoring is carried out to validate field behavior against laboratory benchmarks. Parameters such as surface texture, rutting resistance, and temperature susceptibility are observed over time. Should any material-related issue occur within the warranty period—provided the underlying road base remains structurally sound—corrective actions will be executed promptly and in accordance with our quality management procedures.
